Skyfall Poster Analysis:
The target audience of this film could be suggested to be all ages because the film has been a success for so many years. The film would attract the ages of people who have seen the previous films but this could also encourage the younger generation to go and see this film because it could be suggested that the younger ages would be encouraged because their parents have said how great all of the other films are.
Stereotypically, the film would link to a male audience because of all the action involved in the film. It could also be more advertised towards a male audience because of the 'Bond girls' who are known for their looks and how they will do anything for Bond. The male audiences will like this because they will be attracted to the bond girls and they will also like the way Bond can treat them the way he does. The male audience will also like the way Bond lives his life, the new cars he receives, the new gadgets he must use and the different counties he travels to. Although this is the case it could also link to a female audience because the women will most likely be attracted to Bond, he does also treat women quite well which will also make the women want to be a Bond girl and have all the benefits in which they get.
The Skyfall poster has been made very successfully as it shows all of the things which are involved in the Bond films. The background shows 'Big Ben' which is a very well known tourist destination for London. The sky is also very dark which could have a comical effect because it could suggest that the weather is always bad in London. On the other hand it could suggest that something bad is about to happen and it is slightly behind Bond suggesting that is about to come his way.
The title of the film 'Skyfall' also could link to the point made about something bad is about to happen to him. This title could also link to the 'Asterix' cartoon books and films as they suggest that the chief of the tribe always believes the sky will fall on his people. The sky falling is an old superstition which suggests the world is coming to an end, this could link to the title of this Bond film because it could both have a similar meaning and could suggest that Bond could be in serious danger or the world is coming to an end and he has to try and stop it. It could also suggest that 'skyfall' is the name of an explosive device, maybe a nuclear bomb which will end the world. This poster would encourage the target audience to want to see the film as it suggests something is going to happen and hopefully he will be able to win.
A medium shot is used of the Bond character Daniel Craig, he is not looking directly at the camera which suggests he could sense that something is wrong and he is constantly looking around him to protect himself and the people around him. Daniel Craig is wearing a suit which suggests he is working, this could suggest he want to be normal in the crowds in London which suggests he will not stand out and be a target.
