The fault in our stars
Poster Analysis:

Image result for the fault in our starsTarget audience for the film: The target audience for the film 'The fault in our stars' is aimed at teenagers, this is because it is suggested to be a 'teen flick', although this is the case there are a lot of heavy emotions and relatable circumstances that the film can even appeal to an older audience. The difficult situations which the characters have to live through on a day to day life are shown to be very real and the audience will begin to feel for the audience and some may even be able to relate to them.

Analysis:

Characters: The poster shows two characters from the film, this suggests that they are the two main characters. They look very loved up and happy which suggests that it conforms to our expectations of a romance and also conforms to the suggestion of the target audience being teenagers/young adults, this is because the two characters look like teenagers which suggests they are a similar age to the target audience, this will stand out to the suggested target audience because it means that they can relate to the characters and maybe be able to learn from them.

Shot: The close shot of the two characters focuses on the emotions the characters, this is showing that they are very relaxed and happy with each other. The female character is the right way round for the poster which suggests she is the character which is in the film the most and the film is going to be about her. Another reason which this could be the case is because she has a tube going into her nose which suggests she isn't very well and this then suggests that something sad is going to happen in the film, this creates a tension looking at the poster and would increase the amount of people wanting to watch the film because the audience are intrigued about why she has the tube in her nose and if she is going to be ok.

The Title: The title is also links to the idea of the film being sad, this is because of the idea of 'stars' and the way it could link to heaven. This creates a sad factor again to the film and will also increase the amount of people who go and see the film. The colouring of title is also white and blue which also links to the colouring to the colouring of the sky and the clouds which could also create the idea of heaven. The way the title is also shown looks like someone has written it which suggests that the target audience is for a younger audience because the text looks childish and not a lot of thought has gone into it. The title also suggests that the film could have been written by her and that it could be her diary or something personal to her. This would also increase the target audience because it suggests that it is personal and a true story.
